In my personal opinion, everything about our Local is Organizing. When most think about organizing, we think of two main areas: Internal and External. Within these terms, there are many subcategories, and when we break everything down we see that one cannot work without the other.  

 

Our Local Union has been working with a very small staff and I understand in a lot of areas we are falling short because of this, but there are ways to ensure that what is important to our values as a Union are upheld and reflected. 

 

In my platform we are going to touch on:  

• Membership Engagement - Topics will include: New Members, Members, Stewards, Committees, Education, Business Reps, President and the Organizing Department. 

• Industry Engagement - Topics will include: Members and Future Members, Contractors, and our Electrical Contractors Association. 

• Political & Community Engagement - in this section the main focus will be on diversity, inclusion and empowerment. 

• Financials - Topics will include: Local financials, The Building of Benevolent, and Grievances. 

• Finally, my Conclusion.
